Following her graduation in 2018, Ashley decided to pursue an acting career, and decided not to enroll in college. In 2011, Ashley was chosen to play Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and was recognized in 2012, when she was the role was given to her voice and raccoons in the famous animated adventure comedy Ernest & Celestine which starred Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the relationship between Ernest the bear as well as Celestine the mouse. The film won fourteen of the 29 awards it was nominated, that included an Oscar.
